I am currently parked in the outside lane with about 200 other drivers waiting on a major highway in london for a motorcycle accident to be cleared. We have been here for about two hours now and have just been told we are to be turned back through the tunnel behind me and out of this mess.
The motor cyclist who has caused the delay lies in the road stil, naked with various pipes and devices attached.
They are loading him into the attending ambulance, still alive but with “life changing injurys. His broken ride still far up the road on it’s side, the area declaired a crime scene and sacrasanct until the phorensic folks come to search for evidence.
We have just made the radio, tailbacks reaching 10 miles behind me.
And so we wait.
