Blisteringly hot – Summer Camp 2008 day 3

Day three (Second day of training)

Training is going OK, if a little slow for my liking. I think that much of the exercises in this course could have been chopped – at least in this environment where most if not all of the delegates are quite experiences.

That said, there are a couple of the folks who are not what you can call Mac experts and I guess they are getting useful experience of stuff they wouldn’t normally encounter. For the old Mac heads like me, it does drag a little.

In our mid break I went for a walk today around the streets of Cannes. I had no singular purpose – just to have a look around. Unfortunately the go-anywhere tracker-Brad sandals I brought with me seemed to have half a beach embedded in them from their last excursion from the shoe cupboard. The abrasive texture of the innersoles and the shear amount I walked have resulted in a large blister under my left big toe and a very strange texture to the sole of my right foot. That’ll teach me.

Tonights dinner was in a back room at the hotel that was enclosed with no windows and the hallway in draped with weird semi transparent muslin, several of us said we should look around for “shower heads”.

Instead of execution, there was a nice fish supper (Hmm salmon on Mash Ian – your favourite!) and then a frustrating presentation by the head of marketing – Apple France.

(That’s James a fellow delegate looking “happy” in the pic below by the way!)

All of the people assembled at the event were Mac heads like me. 60+% English speakers and 60% French speakers. All of them will have seen the WWDC keynote I am sure.

Well if they hadn’t, they have now becuase that was ALL they told us – mostly in French to boot. Pointless.

Oh well, exam day tomorrow however so I better knuckle down and make a show of it.

Ian would give me such a hard time for a low score. :-)
