Missed Opportunity

Every Thursday there is a mini-bus provided by the company I work for that travels to the Canary Wharf complex in London’s docklands district. Canary Wharf is a complex of office towers and underground shopping and is fast becoming the ‘new city’ of London. The offices are populated by corporate headquarters of banks and many other big businesses.

The area is teaming with wealthy individuals, all of whom take their lunch in one of the underground shopping areas on site. Put it this way, there is enough money floating around this place to support Bang and Olfusen and Montblanc shops.

The only place to purchase computers in the whole of Canary Wharf is a Currys Digital store in Cabot Square, who offer PC laptops and no support. Canary Wharf is the ideal location for an Apple Mini Store. High quality area, lots of cash floating about, cultural void as far as IT is concerned. Not building a store there is a real missed opportunity on Apple’s part. Why bother building a store in Lakeside when there is one across the bridge about 2 miles away in BlueWater? Canary Wharf should be their next London location (IMHO).
