The Bell Tolls for the Mac Mini (again)

The much loved Mac Mini is rumoured to be in the firing line again, the unofficial apple weblog (tuaw.com) says that the Mini’s day are numbered and it is going to be replaced by a Nano device.
One can only hope that they are listening to corporates like ours who have rejected the shiny new iMacs because of their 16 bit reflective screens and are looking to use Mac Mini’s and 20″ or 23″ screens instead.

Perhaps there’s that corporate desktop Mac we have all been asking for in the Apple pipeline. I for one will not be holding my breath however, I think Apple want us “Pro” users to buy only the Mac Pro machines. This is not good for us of course because it perpetuates the “Macs are expensive” mindset in IT management and makes them less inclined to look at them favourably when the next purchasing round happens.

Incidently, I was paid a visit at work by our contact at Microsoft, he was happily brandishing his new Mac Book Pro. He said it was the best Vista laptop he has ever used and gets many admiring looks from his colleagues in the evil empire.
