Selling England by the lb
Some time ago I noticed that the UK DERA (Defense Research Agency http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DERA ), you know the department of the MOD that does all our secret squirrel research and development, had been spun off into some bizzarely named publicly owned company (QinetiQ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QinetiQ ) in order to make some cash for the country from the neat stuff they develop. The shares were all protected from purchase and everything would be safe.
All well and good until you realise that it was the conservetive government that was doing this (stay with me here) during the time they thought it was a good idea to privitise the country’s hard earned national industries. All part of the policy.
After concervitive leader, John Major fell from grace ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Major ) he took directorships of several companies including a secretive organisation called the Carlyle Group (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlyle_Group). There are a good many websites charting the extreme dodgyness about this company, a google search will furnish you with the details.
Anyway, and this is the reason for the posting, It turns out that Carlyle happened to purchase 50% of QinetiQ about two years ago for not a lot of money.
Well the Defense minister was talking on BBC radio 4 this morning about another subject when the interviewer asked about the latest Carlyle deal. Apparently they are buying more of the company this time £300m worth of company for £40m.
Tell me there isn’t some kind of back room deal there.
Over the last two decades we have sold or given away so much of this country, nothing short of civil war and revolution to get it back.
Viva la Revolucion
Now we are at it!
The BBC are covering a story at the moment that a MORI poll indicates there is a large percentage of UK citizens whom believe in and want taught in our schools, Intelligent design or creation theory.
I have never heard such rot.
I think you would be more accurate to say that 98% of surveys are as reliable as the work of fiction known as the bible. No one I know believes in ID or creation. It is just bunkham. Who sponsered the survey? Discovery? Follow the money.
Religion is about control, it always was, always will be.
It isn’t about saving souls, its about making people conform to the will of their leaders.
It makes me weep that so many good people are suckered in by the saturated brain washing perpetrated by clever people who are cunning with words.
Now the devine being idea is about the people who conspire to propergate this myth need only use gentle pushes here and there keep the story fresh in the minds of the weak witted.
WAKE UP people. Be strong enough to accept the reality about life.
It was all an accident.
No-one planned it.
There is nothing after it.
You do what you can while you are here but in the end it rarely makes much difference.
I will try to live my life well, be nice to others, try to get along. Not because I fear a firey eternity, but that doing so makes me feel good to do so.
Peace
Seasoned Greatings
Happy new year to all my reader (Hi Ian)

Mac Mini intel set top box (Oh I so hope so. My plasma is gagging for this)

Video iPod express (Hmm bandwidth may be a problem here)
Widescreen Intel laptops (Almost a given for an i(ntel)Book with a built in iSight etc. big question of price – sub £500?)
Plasma Screen Mac
