Just like clockwork my Mac refuses to tell the right time
Guten tag from Switzerland. Ian and I have left the sunny flats of the green and pleasant isle to attend a training course (jolly to you and me) in Wil, Switzerland (30 minutes from Zurich).
Today, being Sunday and the only free day we are going to have in the country, Wil is of course shut. Pretty much all of it is closed (except the cinema, which is showing German language versions of out of date films, and a couple of restaurants).
Switzerland is an hour ahead of the UK so as I write this it is 5:56 in the UK and 6:56 local time. Having told my Mac where I am, I would of thought the clock would have changed accordingly (it used to under MacOS 9) but no, doggedly it clings to the perception that we are on UK time. This would be fine, and I can work around it however the clock in my room (bear in mind this is Switzerland) tells me that it is in fact ten minutes to eight. I am inclined to trust another larger timepiece outside my window which likes to make a lot of noise every 15 minutes. The church clock has just struck seven times. so I guess I’ll go with that.
Pictures to follow when I’m back on broadband! Dialup is SO SSSSSLLLLLLOOOOOOWWWW
PS. Happy Mothers Day!
